Financial Administrator Wanted at Örebro Municipality

About the Position

We at the Financial Administration are part of Örebro Municipality's central finance department. We are a large team working in three different teams, each with its own specialty in financial administration. We are currently looking for reinforcement for our accounts receivable team where you will share tasks with five colleagues. Depending on the needs in the different groups, you may switch teams in the future, but regardless of which group you work in, you will have a broad and rewarding role with several different areas of responsibility. You will also be part of our financial support line where you assist both residents of Örebro and colleagues with their financial questions. We are always looking for new ways to improve and digitize our processes, and the tasks are therefore carried out via various digital tools and platforms. You will also have the opportunity to work remotely part of the time.

Examples of Tasks:

  • manage customer invoice flow
  • create accounting orders
  • import file integrations
  • reconciliations of balance accounts
  • handle collection cases with partners

About the Workplace

Örebro Municipality's large finance department provides support in financial and operational management as well as accounting. We have about 75 employees, of which 21 are part of the Financial Administration. Our unit works with the invoice flow, accounts payable and receivable, bookkeeping, accounting, bank giro, permissions, and claims operations.

The finance department is in the midst of a development process where we are reviewing processes, routines, and roles. The aim is to digitize, automate, and standardize work within the entire purchasing and financial process to free up more time for analysis, management, and decision support. We are part of the Municipal Executive Administration, whose mission is to follow up and develop the municipality and provide effective support to all committees and operations. We operate from newly renovated premises at Åbylunden 1 in Örnsro.

Qualifications

For the role of Financial Administrator, we are looking for someone who has a good ability to plan and organize their work effectively and independently. You understand the meaning of self-leadership but can also work well with others. Furthermore, you are meticulous and place great importance on quality work. Since our work is constantly changing, you easily adapt to changing circumstances and can quickly change your perspective and approach. The finance department is undergoing a digitization process, so a positive attitude towards development and a liking for challenges are prerequisites for you to thrive. You should also have an interest and ability to help others and deliver good service. As you will be working with many different stakeholders, good ability to express yourself well in Swedish both verbally and in writing is required. Since the work involves working in digital systems, you are expected to have very good digital competence.

We place great importance on personal suitability.

Requirements:

  • secondary education in finance or equivalent post-secondary education in finance, e.g., YH education
  • experience working in financial systems, e.g., Raindance or similar
  • experience working with accounts receivable flow
  • experience working with file imports
  • experience working with account reconciliations
  • very good knowledge of Excel

Meritorious:

  • experience working with system management
