Operations Engineer in Small-Scale Tactical Operations
Stockholm Exergi is the energy company for the people of Stockholm, and we have about 800 employees who work every day to reduce the climate impact of Stockholmers. We heat over 800,000 residents, and our 300-mile-long district heating network is the hub for the community benefits we create. We plan to build a carbon capture facility at our bioenergy plant in Värtan with the potential to capture 800,000 tons of carbon dioxide per year, which is more than the emissions from Stockholm's road traffic during the same period.
We need more skilled employees and hope you want to join us on our Exergi journey.
What can we offer you?
Do you want to be where it happens – in the heart of energy supply? As an operations engineer in Small-Scale Tactical Operations, you will have a daily routine filled with technology, problem-solving, and responsibility for ensuring that our district heating and cooling plants deliver reliably and efficiently – every day.
You will work with the daily operations of our small-scale heating plants and pump stations. This means monitoring and controlling the facilities via the 800xA system, performing rounds and preventive maintenance, and acting quickly in case of operational disturbances. You will identify faults, manage alarms, and ensure that the facilities are restored and functioning as they should. Your work also contributes to optimized production and reduced environmental impact.
The role involves close collaboration with operations managers, colleagues in the team, maintenance personnel, contractors, and project organizations. Together, you ensure both daily operations and long-term improvements. You will follow up on production, temperatures, pressure, and energy exchange, document according to environmental and safety requirements, and be involved in planned shutdowns and restarts.
This is a position for someone who thrives in a practical role with significant responsibility and enjoys having technology close at hand. You work independently but are also an integral part of a larger context.
As an operations engineer, you will have the opportunity to develop – both technically and personally. You will gain broad insight into our production operations and can eventually take the step towards roles such as system manager, technical specialist, project manager, or coordinator. At the same time, both technology and the world are evolving rapidly, making curiosity, willingness to learn, and initiative important qualities for you.
We are looking for someone who not only wants to keep systems running – but also wants to drive them forward. Together we build the energy solutions of the future.
The role is a permanent position.
Working hours: Daytime.
Location: Involves work at the company's facilities based in Brista. This position is classified in a security category, and you will need to undergo a security clearance before employment.
Why work with me?
As a leader, I am clear, present, and solution-oriented. I believe in leadership based on trust, structure, and shared responsibility. With me, you will have a manager who listens, creates security, and cares about the development of both the individual and the group. For me, leadership is about creating conditions for others to succeed – both as individuals and as a team. I enjoy working closely with the operations, am not afraid to make decisions, and am clear about my expectations. At the same time, there is always room for laughter and team spirit – it should be both meaningful and fun to go to work.
