to apply for the job

The city of Västerås has removed the personal letter from the application process. We do this to achieve a better and fairer recruitment process. When you submit your application, you will be asked to answer a number of questions that will be an important part of our selection work.

Here you will work in a small, nature-oriented school with a strong community and close collaboration with colleagues. As a resource educator, you have significant influence and the opportunity to truly make a difference for each student.

Your Responsibilities

In this role, you will plan and implement preventive and health-promoting activities during both school hours and leisure time. Together with class teachers, you will drive activities based on the school's values and create conditions for a safe and inclusive school environment.

You will organize and lead activities that promote joy of movement, community, and well-being among students. The assignment also includes being part of the after-school program, where you, together with colleagues, carry out activities that strengthen students both individually and in groups and contribute to their development and schooling.

Your Qualifications

You have an academic education focused on pedagogy/behavioral science of at least 30 higher education credits. You have experience working in schools and have knowledge of computers and other technical aids, seeing this as a natural part of your work. We prefer that you have previous work experience as a resource educator/student assistant. We see that you are a secure and clear leader who gives students the opportunity to develop based on their conditions. You are clear and structured and enjoy collaborating. You are happy to come up with ideas and suggestions on how the operations can be developed.

We Offer

The school is beautifully surrounded by forests, fields, and Tortuna Church just outside Västerås. We are a relatively small school, which makes class divisions and working methods flexible. We have a strong community where everyone knows each other, and we work closely together to create a safe and developing environment for our students. The size of the school allows for good oversight and short decision-making paths.

Here you will become part of something bigger! With warmth and respect, we show initiative in both big and small matters. We live our values in our interactions with each other and those we serve. Every day, all year round, we ensure that Västerås functions. Together with your approximately 11,500 colleagues around the city, you will have Sweden's most important job.
