You now have the opportunity to work as a native language teacher with remote teaching.
This means you can work from anywhere in Sweden.
Teaching takes place via Microsoft Teams on Friday afternoons. Part of Friday morning is used for conferences, where all native language teachers participate. The teaching is conducted in mixed-grade student groups where students remain at their home schools. During lessons, they receive help and support from remote instructors with whom you will collaborate closely.
You will be part of a working group consisting of about 25 native language teachers.
Your tasks include planning, implementing, and evaluating your teaching according to the curriculum and course plan for native language. You will follow up, assess, grade, and document students' knowledge development. Additionally, you will handle attendance reporting, absence management for your students, and contact with guardians. You may also be assigned to assess whether a student meets the national requirements to participate in native language instruction. Further tasks include participating in conferences and professional development together with other native language teachers.

Who are you?
We are looking for someone who
- has Finnish as your native language.
- has a teaching license.
- has documented good knowledge of your native language.
- has a good ability to express yourself in Swedish both orally and in writing.
- is accustomed to using digital IT programs, such as Microsoft Teams, Word, and Outlook.
- is well acquainted with the Swedish school system and national governing documents such as the curriculum and course plan for native language for primary school.
You have good knowledge and understanding of the values and views of knowledge in the curriculum.
It is advantageous if you
- have experience teaching students and adapting instruction based on different grades and knowledge levels.
- have experience formulating assessments of students' knowledge development and assigning grades.
- have experience in native language instruction.
- have experience working with remote teaching of students.
- have experience using Schoolsoft or another learning platform.
- are accustomed to working with IT as a pedagogical tool.
As a person, you are flexible, structured, results-oriented, and take great responsibility for your tasks. For the position, you need to be able to inspire your students and strive to create a positive learning environment. You have high expectations for your students and their ability to develop. As a person, you enjoy collaborating and building good relationships with others such as colleagues, guardians, remote instructors, and other staff at the schools.

The position is temporary and extends over the spring term of 2026.

About us
The Department of Children and Education is responsible for the municipality's preschools, primary schools, secondary schools, adapted schools, and cultural schools. We work together for a learning environment where children, students, and employees succeed and can be their best. The department's mission is to coordinate, plan, and support the various activities and work for coordination between school and working life.
We offer native language instruction from grade 3 through high school. Close collaboration occurs between native language teachers and staff at the schools where native language instruction takes place. We currently have about 800 students participating in native language instruction in primary and secondary schools.
