About our operations

Iris Hadar AB conducts adult education in Malmö on behalf of the City of Malmö, focusing on individuals with visual or hearing impairments, including the deaf and blind. We offer SFI as well as basic and upper secondary courses.

Our goal is to create the best possible conditions for our students as they prepare for the next step in life. Our operations are characterized by high quality, great flexibility, and complete individual adaptation. We are a small but experienced organization with centrally located premises in Malmö.

About the position

Iris Hadar is now seeking a part-time educator to conduct Social Orientation for newly arrived individuals in Ukrainian sign language. The assignment includes approximately 100 teaching hours and planning time as agreed.

About the assignment

Social Orientation is a course aimed at providing newly arrived adults with knowledge about Swedish society, how it works, and what rights and obligations exist. The course is conducted in the participants' native language or another language they master, in this case, Ukrainian sign language.

You will teach adult participants in groups on-site at our premises. We are flexible with the schedule so that the position can be combined with any other work you may have.

The content of Social Orientation includes, among other things:

  • The structure of Swedish society
  • Democracy, equality, and human rights
  • Family life and children's rights in Sweden
  • Working life, studies, and pathways to establishment
  • Health care and welfare systems
  • Living and residing in Sweden - practical and cultural orientation.

Materials and pedagogical support are available.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is familiar with Swedish society, which is required for the course to maintain quality.
  • Has a very good command of Ukrainian sign language.
  • Can communicate in Swedish sign language or Swedish at a level that allows for planning with hearing colleagues.
  • Has a good ability to create safe, inclusive learning environments.
  • Is structured and confident in planning, leading, and conducting teaching.

Meritorious:

  • Has experience in teaching, mentoring, or working with groups, preferably within adult education or folk education.
  • Experience teaching deaf or hard-of-hearing participants.
  • Knowledge of migration or integration work.
  • Post-secondary education in pedagogy, education, social sciences, or a related field.

  • Workplace: On-site at our premises at Studentgatan 5 in central Malmö.
