Gärdsåsskolan is now seeking a certified teacher qualified to teach Swedish, Mathematics, English, and Science for grades 4–6.

Responsibilities

As a teacher, you will plan, implement, and evaluate instruction according to the current curriculum, based on the needs and conditions of the students. You will work to make lessons interesting and accessible for all students, and you have a strong ability to create structure, clarity, and a conducive learning environment in the classroom. You have proven experience that you rely on while also engaging with new research to develop your teaching.

Like all educators, you will work with digitalization in your teaching. At Gärdsåsskolan, digital tools are used at selected times to enhance the quality of instruction. Students at the school have access to their own Chromebooks and work with Gleerups digital learning materials. The school staff works in teams focused on the student and their knowledge development. You will belong to the middle school team and work closely with your colleague who is the mentor for the parallel class. With the student's best interests in mind, you will collaboratively plan lessons and school days for students in grade 4. You will also actively prepare for and participate in meetings arranged for students in your grade, for the entire middle school, or for the whole school.

As a teacher at the school, you will be responsible for your class, where you will conduct most of your teaching. You may also teach one or more subjects in the parallel class. This means that you are the mentor for your class and plan the school days for the students' learning and development. It also means that you will have contact with colleagues and guardians for the students' best interests.

About the school

Gärdsåsskolan has large, bright, and spacious facilities with good connections via Kortedala square. Approximately 300 students attend Gärdsåsskolan in the middle and upper grades. To achieve high goal fulfillment and continuously develop the school's operations, our educators are eager to further their education and stay updated on the latest research.

Qualifications

We are looking for a certified teacher qualified to teach Swedish, Mathematics, English, and Science for grades 4–6. Additional qualifications are an advantage.

The role also requires that you have good knowledge of the Swedish language in both spoken and written form, are well acquainted with governing documents, and have good computer skills. We welcome applicants with teaching experience, but newly graduated teachers are also warmly encouraged to apply. As a new employee, you will receive guidance and support from a special educator.

You can make independent decisions within the framework of your assignment. You have the ability to work collaboratively with others to perform tasks and achieve goals.
