Tunaholm School is hiring a substitute teacher for Swedish and English

Tunaholm School is a multicultural 7-9 school centrally located in Mariestad. Approximately 335 students study at the school, and the staff works in four different teams around the students. We are now looking for a competent substitute teacher in Swedish and English for the spring term.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Teaching Swedish and English in grades 8-9, as well as teaching Swedish/English as an elective.

You will be part of a team and also share mentorship for a class. In the teamwork around students' knowledge development, you will contribute together with colleagues to see holistic solutions in teaching based on both group and individual needs.

You put the student's best interests at the center from a social and pedagogical perspective and conduct and develop your work based on science and proven pedagogical experience both independently and together with others.

The position is 100%, but 50-100% may be possible by agreement if you have competence in one of the two requested subjects. The substitute position extends until June 17.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are primarily looking for you who are a certified teacher with qualifications in Swedish and/or English for grades 7-9. Secondly, we are looking for someone who has experience teaching at the upper secondary level and qualifications that the employer deems adequate to teach students in the languages of English and Swedish.

You have good knowledge of Swedish and English as well as basic to good computer skills. Furthermore, you are a good communicator and have the ability to build trust in relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues.

This work requires leadership skills, responsibility, good collaboration ability, flexibility, and a solution-focused approach in teaching. As a teacher, you focus on creating safety and study peace in the classroom as fundamental conditions for learning. You shape language teaching from a holistic perspective where students are encouraged to want and dare to communicate. It is also important for you to differentiate teaching based on the student group you meet. Furthermore, you have a clear and relational leadership characterized by a structured and accessible learning environment and teaching.
