Östermalmsgården Preschool is a preschool with great commitment where we constantly seek ways for development. The preschool was built in 2012 with Reggio Emilia inspired architecture and is divided into four departments with younger and older children.

We work with a common theme at the preschool where each department works on projects linked to the curriculum's goal areas based on language, mathematics, science/technology, and values.

Our view of children is based on the competent and thinking child. With us, there is a permissive approach where children's own thoughts, ideas, and actions are given ample space. We take children's questions seriously and see learning as something we create together - the educators are co-explorers who, in dialogue with the children, explore, reflect, and seek answers to questions that arise in everyday life. Previously, we participated in the project "100 languages, 100 environments". It was during this work that our way of working with learning environments took shape and developed. The experiences from the project continue to live on in our daily lives and shape how we today consciously design, use, and change learning environments both indoors and outdoors as an active part of the teaching.

Your task as a preschool teacher is to work together with the team to create the best conditions for children's development and learning.

We have assigned responsibilities that concern the entire preschool, and different groups to keep both the individual and the preschool's development going. As a preschool teacher with us, you are responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating the teaching. You actively work with pedagogical documentation to follow up and develop the work in the children's group. Together with colleagues in the team, you create good opportunities for children's development and learning. You actively work to promote children's ability to participate and exercise influence over their education by taking into account their perceptions, opinions, and needs.

You have pedagogical development time included in the schedule, both for reflection in the team and individual planning as well as collegial learning in cross-groups.

Within the Preschool Administration, we have free pedagogical lunches, work clothes, and as a preschool teacher, you also have an average of five hours of planning time per week. We also offer a trained mentor if you are new to the profession, as well as opportunities for further education and collegial learning. It is an advantage if you have experience working with creative and enjoyable learning environments where aesthetic expressions are highlighted. Whether you are newly graduated or have worked for a long time, you are warmly welcome to apply.
