Within the Youth Clinic (UM) Skåne, there are ten physical youth clinics and UM Skåne Online where we meet young people via video calls. UM Skåne is organized into five areas, each with its own unit manager under a common operations manager. Our unit consists of the clinics in Kristianstad and Hässleholm. We are a workplace with dedicated employees, including midwives, social workers, nurses, nursing assistants, and doctors.

The youth clinics in Region Skåne aim to competently, equitably, and evidence-based support young people into adulthood at the request of the youth themselves, regardless of who is seeking help or where in Skåne the applicant lives. Our target group is young people aged 12 to 23 years. Our mission is to work preventively and health-promoting within; sexual health, unwanted pregnancies, sexually transmitted infections, and physical and mental ill health.

JOB DESCRIPTION

We now have the opportunity to welcome a new employee to our clinic in Kristianstad as one of our midwives is retiring!

As a midwife, you will work with contraceptive counseling, gynecological examinations, STI diagnostics, treatment and contact tracing, pregnancy tests, and sexual health inquiries. Part of our work is outreach, where we meet school classes and other groups of young people to inform them about our services.

The role involves a lot of individual and independent work, but we also value good collaboration with the clinic's other professional groups. Your specific expertise is crucial for the team to provide our visitors with good interdisciplinary care. At the youth clinic, we are all youth caregivers, and the work requires a strong commitment and respect for young people's living conditions. We always work from a salutogenic perspective with a norm-critical approach. Welcome to a pleasant workplace with colleagues who care for each other!

QUALIFICATIONS

We welcome you as a licensed midwife with prescribing rights and the authority to work within Swedish healthcare. Language skills in Swedish at least corresponding to level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale is a requirement. We prefer that you have previous experience working in a youth clinic and/or sexual health competence. Additionally, you are curious about or have experience working with issues related to identity, relationships, LGBTQI+, and sexuality.

Working with us requires a positive outlook, commitment, and respect for young people's living conditions. You should be able to work both independently and in close collaboration with your colleagues. Great emphasis is placed on collaboration skills and personal suitability.
