About Hjortviken Country Club

We opened our doors in January 2025 and today offer a wide range of experiences: two restaurants, 150 rooms, six bars, a Pool Club, and an ambitious meeting and event operation. Here, everything from the small but important management team meeting to large kick-offs, anniversary dinners, and festive occasions is accommodated.

Club Room – our living room

Club Room is Hjortviken's living room and restaurant – a homage to Tore Wretman, the man who created modern Swedish home cooking and made the Swedish smorgasbord world-famous.

Here, the classic Swedish culinary craft is celebrated with warmth, quality, and respect for the ingredients. On the menu, we find dishes like venison meatballs with cream sauce, potato purée, pressed cucumber, and lingonberries – food that brings people together around the table and lets conversations turn into memories.

The atmosphere is rustic, masculine, and authentically warming. Club Room is the place where guests land, linger, and return to – again and again.

About the position

As Sous Chef at Hjortviken Country Club and in our restaurant Club Room, you play a key role in the kitchen operations. Together with the head chef, you are responsible for managing and further developing the classic kitchen while ensuring high quality, clear working methods, and a strong team spirit.

You are a present leader with a passion for food, people, and details – and thrive in a kitchen where craftsmanship, pace, and warmth go hand in hand.

Responsibilities

As a Sous Chef, you will:

  • Assist the head chef with menu planning and development

  • Lead and inspire the kitchen team in daily work

  • Ensure that the food maintains high quality and is served according to our standards

  • Be responsible for inventory and orders

  • Follow and maintain hygiene and safety routines

  • Contribute creative ideas and development, with respect for the soul of the classic kitchen

Who are you?

We are looking for someone with a strong passion for cooking and a genuine interest in classic craftsmanship. You are a team player who thrives in a leading role and wants to develop both people and the business. You are confident, solution-oriented, and have an eye for details.

Qualifications we value
  • At least 3 years of experience as a chef, preferably in the role of Sous Chef

  • Good leadership skills and a coaching approach

  • High knowledge of hygiene and safety

  • Ability to work both structured and creatively

  • Good knowledge of Swedish and English
