Client Officer at Norrköping Prison
The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and we are now looking for more employees. Our most important goal is to reduce recidivism – to break the vicious cycle. If we succeed, society will be safer and more secure for everyone. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation, detention centers, and client transport.

The prison is centrally located in Norrköping and has about 50 employees distributed across various professional categories and competencies. The prison has capacity for 70 clients. The entire workplace is characterized by a high level of security awareness. A high level of security is necessary for the Swedish Prison and Probation Service to meet the requirement of protecting society, providing good care, and influencing our inmates towards a life without crime.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As a client officer, you will be responsible, under the supervision of the correctional officer, for the overall client work. This includes ensuring and quality-assuring the legal process, calculating sentences, managing the legal client process, and handling misconduct cases. You will make assessments based on applicable regulations, guidelines, and practices and make decisions according to delegation. The assignment also includes developing and quality-assuring the legal work in dialogue with the correctional officer. You will mentor other staff in client work and the various processes within the legal system.
You will be the sole client officer at the prison, and a crucial part of the job is collaboration with your colleagues as well as other internal and external actors, such as Social Services and other authorities. The position may also involve other administrative tasks.
QUALIFICATIONS

We expect you to take responsibility for your tasks and independently drive your processes forward. Being meticulous and well aware of goals and quality standards is a given for you and crucial for succeeding in the job. As a person, you are secure, stable, and controlled even in stressful situations. You make correct assessments and priorities and show judgment in statements, actions, and decisions.

We are looking for someone who has:
- University or college education with a legal, pedagogical, or behavioral science focus, or other education combined with experience deemed equivalent by the Swedish Prison and Probation Service
- Knowledge and experience in leading others in work tasks
- Very good ability to express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish
- Driver's license (B)
It is advantageous if you also have:
- Experience working within the Swedish Prison and Probation Service, especially as a client officer
- Experience in case management within public administration
- Experience working with administrative law cases and thus good knowledge of relevant legislation
