The Municipal Management Staff is the municipality's central support to the organization. Here, the economic office, personnel office, municipal management office, and culture and leisure unit are gathered.

The Economic Office is a service organization for elected representatives, municipal administrations, municipal companies, and the public in all matters concerning the municipality's economy.

Description

We are looking for a temporary economist for the Economic Office! The Economic Office in Forshaga Municipality consists of a procurement unit and an economics unit.

In the economics unit, six economists and three economic assistants work. In the procurement unit, there is a procurement manager and seven purchasers. The Economic Office is led by the municipality's chief economist. We support the operations of the municipality and the municipal companies with economic expertise, including budgeting, accounting, follow-up, calculation, and economic analysis.

You will work with the municipality's wholly-owned companies: Forshagabostäder AB (FABO), Forshaga Energi AB (FEAB), and Forshaga Fibernät AB (FFAB). We work in Raindance and Vitec.

Responsibilities

As an economist for the municipal companies, the assignment consists of:

  • Ongoing accounting (bookkeeping, accruals, account reconciliations)
  • Monthly and annual closing as well as preparation for the annual report and audit
  • Budgeting and forecasting work as well as ongoing follow-up and analysis
  • Reporting and decision support to the CEO/management and board
  • Financing management
  • Liquidity and payment follow-up
  • Invoice management and support in approval and accounting routines
  • Investment follow-up
  • Valuation and follow-up of property values as well as documentation/support
  • Contact with auditors and other external parties, as well as development of economic routines.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a university or college degree focused on accounting or similar equivalent education and/or experience. It is an advantage if you have property economic competence and experience working in municipal companies.

As a person, we see that you have good analytical skills and can break down complex problems to help find solutions for good economic management in the companies' operations. You are self-driven and take responsibility for planning, executing, and evaluating both your own assignments and our joint work. You explain and describe economic concepts in a simple and clear manner. You are accommodating in your approach and collaborate well with your colleagues and the operations. You remain calm and stable when the pace of work increases and instill confidence in the operations in their assignments. You have a strong interest in economics in both corporate and public sectors.
