Residential Support Worker Wanted at Upplands Väsby Municipality

As a residential support worker with us, you will have a responsible and varied job where you support residents in their daily lives. Here you will have the opportunity to apply your theoretical knowledge in practice and develop in your professional role in a safe and supportive environment.

About us

Within the area of self-managed operations, there are service apartments and group homes for adults with intellectual disabilities and autism. In our group homes, six individuals with relatively extensive care needs reside, where your role is central to their quality of life.

About the position

You will support and motivate users in their daily lives based on individual needs and implementation plans. The work is carried out in close collaboration with support pedagogues, colleagues, relatives, and healthcare staff. The tasks include both pedagogical and practical support:

• Activities in the residence, physical and social activities, outings, etc.
• Personal care and transfers
• Household chores and other tasks related to the work in the group home
• Documentation and medication delegation

We work structurally with a salutogenic approach and low-arousal responses to create a safe everyday life for the residents.

As a part-time employee, you will fill in for regular staff during their absence. We prefer that you can work around ten shifts a month or more. The shifts vary in length (5–13 hours) and are scheduled during the day, evening, and night (for those who wish) on weekdays and weekends – making it easy to combine with your studies and school breaks!

Are you the one we are looking for?

We are looking for you who are studying to become a nursing assistant or have another suitable education in healthcare and social care at least at the high school level. Through your studies and work experience, you have basic knowledge of disabilities, care, and cognitive support.

As a person, you are empathetic and can easily adapt to different users' needs. You have good collaboration skills in relation to users, colleagues, and relatives. For the job, you need to have very good knowledge of Swedish (spoken and written) and be computer literate, as well as being at least 18 years old. This is a job for you who are responsible, can take initiative, and work independently!
