Welcome to Eskilstuna by the shores of Lake Mälaren, the idyllic medium-sized town with industrial roots and the Eskilstuna River flowing through the city center. Here you will find everything you could wish for, and if something is still missing, Stockholm is just an hour away by either good train connections or by car via E20. At Mälarsjukhuset, we have an emergency service that is open 24/7. We work together with emergency physicians, nurses, nursing assistants, medical secretaries, and paramedics. Our goal is for the patient to feel safe, receive the right care and treatment, and feel supported after their visit with us. We are constantly striving to develop and improve care processes and working methods to meet the patient's needs. We are reviewing working methods, staffing, work environment, and planning for our new emergency department, which is set to be completed in 2026. We are in need of more colleagues, as we will be opening our brand new pediatric emergency department.

For newly graduated nurses with an interest in emergency care, we offer a position where about 10% of the scheduled working hours are allocated for training on the emergency department during the first 6 months. This means that the first 6 months are a combined position where, in addition to working in patient care, you have a certain portion set aside for education and supervision, which helps you develop in your professional role.

Your Responsibilities

Your work will include assessing acutely ill patients, medication management, documentation, and nursing care. We offer onboarding and continuous training to ensure you feel secure and develop in your role, both as a nurse and in future leadership positions. As a nurse in our workplace, you will have the opportunity to gain broad competence in emergency care for all different patient categories, such as surgical patients, medical patients, and pediatric patients. This provides a varied work experience as a nurse with us.

• Collaboration and communication are important parts of daily work.
• The educational nurse in the emergency department collaborates with management to drive competence development for all staff to increase knowledge, patient safety, and security.

Your Competence

You are a licensed nurse. As a person, you are self-driven and structured. You relate to others in a responsive and smooth manner, are flexible, and have good collaboration skills. In your interactions with patients, you have an empathetic and service-oriented approach. We view positively if you later wish to pursue specialist training in pediatric care or emergency care.
