To meet the increased demand for radiological diagnostics, we at the Radiology Clinic, Nyköping Hospital intend to appoint an additional ST/BT doctor starting in 2026.

Our ST training is based on the National Board of Health and Welfare's goal description, where conditions for both practical and theoretical goal fulfillment are met through radiological work in a review environment and opportunities to attend courses.

As a ST doctor with us, you will participate in the daily work with plain X-rays, fluoroscopy, ultrasound, intervention, CT, MRI, and ward activities. MRI training begins early as almost all of the clinic's radiologists review MRI. The position includes on-call duties in the evenings and weekends. On-call duties are introduced early in the training with strong support from the backup and gradually transition to a more responsible role. Between 10 PM and 7 AM, we have external remote review that takes over the primary on-call line while the backup is on standby at home.

You will participate in national and international courses, including Karolinska's training series for ST doctors in radiology. Parts of the ST training take place at other hospitals/university hospitals in the form of so-called shadowing.

Today, the Radiology Clinic is well-staffed with 15 specialists (of which two are PhDs) and 5 ST doctors. At the clinic, everyone has a broad general radiological interest with individual deepening in various areas. We have close collaboration with the hospital's clinical operations with short communication paths as well as ward activities including so-called MDK conferences.

We consider ourselves to be a very pleasant workplace for general radiologists, where great importance is placed on good atmosphere, good cooperation, and respect for each other. We have flexible working conditions with individually tailored schedules. The clinic was SPUR-reviewed in 2020 with positive feedback.

Currently, the department has two CT scanners, three MRI machines, two ultrasound machines, a fluoroscopy lab, and two skeleton and lung labs.

Your Competence

We are looking for someone who is a social, open, curious, and engaged colleague. You have a strong interest in radiology and its diagnostic and technical possibilities and challenges. Consideration will be given to your previous experience and qualifications. Good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written, is necessary.

You have completed Swedish general service (AT) and have Swedish medical licensure. As an alternative to AT, we can offer integrated basic service (BT) that is performed at some point during the first two years of the ST training. The BT is planned and managed in such cases by a central BT unit common to Region Sörmland.
