Care Assistants Needed at Fredslund

Fredslund is a care and nursing home located in Hasslerör, seven kilometers north of Mariestad. Here, a pleasant rural environment prevails where you can sit together with other guests or find a quiet corner to retreat to. Walking paths are available around the residence. We have four units at Fredslund, one of which is focused on the Finnish administrative area, meaning that there are Finnish-speaking residents and staff. Here at Fredslund, we also have the opportunity to offer respite care.

We now need to hire two care assistants on temporary contracts.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The job responsibilities consist of personal care, delegated medical tasks, social interaction, and daily chores. The work also involves close collaboration with the unit manager, deputy unit manager, nurses, occupational therapists, and physiotherapists.

We work with a contact person system and advocacy assignments where you as an employee have the opportunity to develop and be part of the development of the organization.

At Fredslund, various activities are offered to the residents based on their wishes and interests, carried out by the care staff. Examples of activities may include reading newspapers/books, baking, chair exercises, quiz walks, music quizzes, reading cafés, walks, films, pub entertainment, puzzles, and board games. Various churches regularly visit Fredslund. Entertainment of various kinds, such as dance bands, accordion players, and other performances, occurs regularly and is highly appreciated.

We work on a seven-week schedule covering days, evenings, and weekends. This means that you will work three out of seven weekends and have two consecutive weekends off during the schedule period.

The positions we are now announcing are two temporary contracts for six months with the possibility of extension.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is a trained care assistant and preferably has previous work experience with elderly people. You should have knowledge about dementia and mental distress and be attentive to the needs of the residents. We also see that you are a secure person in your interactions with care recipients and possess good caregiving skills.

It is important that you are structured and flexible and can adapt quickly. You are driven and curious to learn new things and develop in your professional role. Since we work a lot with activities, it is an advantage if you are an inventive and creative person.

You are expected to have good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written. Computer skills are also required to document and access written documentation in the systems used by the organization. All to ensure good and safe care.

Knowledge of Finnish is an asset.

A driver's license and a car are required to reach the workplace.
