About the Position

As a healthcare assistant, you will work in one of our operations within somatics or psychiatry. These operations are conducted at Sahlgrenska Hospital, Östra Hospital, Mölndal Hospital, Rågården (Gunnilse), and Högsbo Hospital. The needs of the departments will determine which hospital you will be placed at.

What can your workday look like?

As a healthcare assistant, you will work with basic care focusing on supporting the patient in maintaining and improving their functions. You will assist patients during meals, personal hygiene, and mobility. Other tasks may include keeping order in the kitchen and storage. About You

We are looking for summer substitutes during the vacation period weeks 23-35 (June 1 - August 30). You should be able to work 8 consecutive weeks, of which 4 weeks in July. You have approved grades from compulsory school or equivalent education.

We prefer that you who apply are studying to become a nurse, doctor, psychologist, assistant nurse in care and welfare, or are a trained healthcare assistant and/or have experience in care work. You are service-oriented and good at collaborating. You can adapt to different work situations and prioritize as needed. We will consider personal suitability when filling the positions.

To provide our patients with good and safe care, it is important that our employees have good language skills and the ability to communicate in Swedish. Your language level should be at least B2 (according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages), SVA 1 (Swedish as a Second Language 1 in municipal adult education), or equivalent.

At Sahlgrenska University Hospital, care is provided around the clock, which means you may work days, evenings, nights, and weekends. Sahlgrenska University Hospital has a time quota linked to nights, which reduces weekly working hours for each night worked.

Before employment in psychiatry, a check of the suspicion and criminal record register is conducted.

• have ongoing education: transcript and registration certificate indicating which term you are in and how many credits you have earned so far.
• have ongoing education abroad: you need to have your grades translated into English by your university. It must be clear which term you are in.
• have a foreign degree: you need to have an assessment from the National Board of Health and Welfare or have validated the education through UHR.
• Work certificates (optional) from previous employers (dates, employment rate, and hours).
