Technical Intelligence Analyst

We are currently looking for technical intelligence analysts who want to combine technical skills with a global perspective. At FRA, we work on unique tasks – for Sweden's security and integrity.

Your Mission

As a technical analyst, you will combine your technical knowledge with your interest in global affairs. In your work, you will process and analyze large amounts of information and explore various questions together with your analyst colleagues. In the role of technical intelligence analyst, your tasks will include:

  • Technical system analysis focusing on signal, network, and protocol analysis
  • Independently search for, methodically process, and analyze large datasets
  • Identify patterns and new solutions that contribute to the development of our capabilities
  • Act as a linking function between different specialist roles, both internally and externally

Your work will be greatly influenced by the rapid technological development, as the phenomena we monitor exist in a wide range of areas. This requires you to stay updated and adapt your working methods accordingly. Continuous professional development is an integral part of our operations, and you may also act as a mentor when needed. Domestic and international travel may occur in the position. At FRA, we have strong confidentiality, and it is important that you feel comfortable with that.

You Can

We are looking for someone who has:

  • A degree in IT/computer science/data engineering/information security or equivalent knowledge acquired through work experience
  • Knowledge in processing and technical system analysis
  • Experience in processing and analyzing larger datasets
  • Fluent in writing, understanding, and communicating in Swedish and English

We consider it an advantage if you have knowledge of and experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Education in technology, statistics, or IT forensics
  • Network analysis, protocol analysis, network communication
  • Graph theoretical analysis of datasets
  • Experience in system development
  • Experience with Postgres, ElasticSearch, Wireshark/Tshark
  • Web development and relevant web languages, frameworks
  • Ubuntu/CentOS, virtualization, and Docker
  • Backend programming with Python, JavaScript, C, C++, and Bash
  • Experience in information management and information models
  • Experience in project management or working in a project format
  • Experience from work in intelligence operations, defense, and security issues
  • Language skills in Russian, Mandarin, Persian, Arabic, or Russian.

More Information

The workplace is located near Drottningholm, about 10 minutes from Brommaplan. Swedish citizenship is a requirement as employment at FRA involves placement in a security class. Before employment, you will be security vetted in accordance with the provisions of the Security Protection Act. Employment comes with an obligation to be placed in the event of war.
