The forensic psychiatry area is part of the management of Psychiatry, habilitation, and aids and consists of forensic psychiatric units in Malmö, Trelleborg, Helsingborg, Hässleholm, and Kristianstad. We currently have about 300 employees and care for individuals who have been sentenced to forensic psychiatric care by the court. Many of our patients have psychotic disorders, multiple disabilities, and substance abuse. Secondary complications such as lack of formal education, social isolation, and ostracism are common. The goal of forensic psychiatric care is to habilitate and rehabilitate patients to a daily life in society with increased psychosocial function and reduced risk of reoffending.

The outpatient care in Malmö is responsible for the rehabilitation and habilitation of patients sentenced to forensic psychiatric care when inpatient care is no longer deemed necessary. Here we work in teams consisting of nurses and caregivers, with doctors, psychologists, occupational therapists, and social workers linked to the team. In our work, we strive for close cooperation with social services and other psychiatric services in the network work around our patients. We also work proactively with home visits to follow up on our patients. Here we work with person-centered care and implement our new working method that follows the treatment model Flexible Assertive Community (F-ACT).

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We offer you an independent and varied job where your main tasks are to provide good psychiatric care for our patients. The care work is always based on the individual needs of the patient, and you will receive an individually tailored introduction with shadowing according to personal needs. Competence development and supervision, for example in patient work, occur continuously. When documenting in the work, we use the computer support Melior.

You will work in a team consisting of nurses and caregivers/nursing assistants. The team also includes a doctor, psychologist, occupational therapist, secretary, and social worker. We strive for close cooperation with social services and other psychiatric services in network work around our patients. Team collaboration, where different competencies and experiences enrich and complement each other, is fundamental to our working method. Our operations are characterized by diversity and high competence.

The working hours are scheduled during the day, Monday to Friday.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is a trained nursing assistant or a specialist nursing assistant in psychiatry. This means that you have an approved upper secondary education in health and care (2500 points), an approved health and care education via Komvux (minimum 1350 points), or another equivalent nursing assistant education. Since the work largely involves communication and documentation, good language skills in Swedish, both spoken and written, are a requirement. You also master basic medical technical procedures at the nursing assistant level.

Applicants who currently hold a permanent position with the job title caregiver can apply and will retain the job title upon potential employment (but no longer than 2033 when the title caregiver will cease within our operations).

We would like you to have experience working as a caregiver and/or nursing assistant. It is an advantage if you have experience working in psychiatry or with patients with mental health issues. If you also have experience from working in forensic psychiatry, we consider that an advantage. Furthermore, good computer skills and basic knowledge of our journal system Melior are beneficial.

Attach your nursing assistant certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare if you have received it or your diploma to the application. If you have not yet received the certificate, you will be given the title of care assistant in the meantime. If you were permanently employed as a nursing assistant on July 1, 2023, or if you wish to retain the job title caregiver and were employed as such before November 1, 2023, please submit a certificate that verifies this.
