About the job

We are looking for new employees for the Children and Youth LSS short-term accommodation Grodden/Brogården and housing for children Tranum.

Our goal is to provide children and young people with a meaningful everyday life with support from engaged, present, attentive, and professional staff. We create a safe, structured, and developing environment where each individual is given the opportunity to grow based on their unique circumstances. As a support assistant with us, you will have a varied, developing, and responsible job where you make a difference for others.

Job responsibilities

As a support assistant, you work to meet, support, and motivate children and young people to increase their independence, social skills, and abilities based on their own circumstances. Being a safe and present adult in the children's everyday life. This may involve providing support with communication, leisure activities, and personal care.

Your job responsibilities include documenting, planning, working based on the children's or young person's implementation plan, and performing medical interventions. In the role of support assistant, you have several contact points besides the children and young people, such as relatives, healthcare, occupational therapists, schools, and leisure activities.

For us, it is obvious to quickly adapt our working methods to meet changing needs and handle challenging situations in the environments where our children and young people are located.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone who is confident in themselves, responsible, solution-oriented, and has a genuine desire to work with children and young people with special needs. You contribute to good collaboration, are empathetic, have an easy time communicating both verbally and in writing, and create trusting relationships with the children and young people. You are also skilled at planning and adapting interventions according to individual needs, always with the children's best interests in focus.

Requirements:

• Good Swedish in speech and writing and
• Basic digital competence.
• Driving license B
• Experience working with children and young people with NPF diagnoses

Meritorious:

• Approved grades from the Health and Care Program or the Child and Leisure Program with a focus on social work or leisure leader training.
• Experience working in the field of disabilities.
• Experience with children/youth in social activities, short-term accommodation, or HVB operations.
• Experience working with individuals with autism and challenging behaviors.
• Experience working with children and young people with neuropsychiatric diagnoses.
• Previous work with pedagogical planning and structure.
• Access to a personal vehicle

Other

In our operations, everyone who is to be employed to work in the field of disabilities must, according to law (2010:479), present an extract from the criminal record for the hiring manager. It usually takes between 1-2 weeks to receive it by mail, and it must be shown before employment to the hiring manager.

Your employment will be within the Social Welfare Sector of Lidköping Municipality, which means you may have to work in other units.

The positions are permanent employment with a probationary period. You will work scheduled hours such as days, evenings, sleeping nights, and weekends. Awake nights may also occur.
