The Reception Unit is part of the Department of Children and Youth Authority Hisingen, consisting of three teams of 6-7 social workers, each led by a senior social worker.

In addition to the Reception Unit, the department has four investigation units, the Domestic Violence Unit, the Youth at Risk Team (TUR), and two child protection units.

Job Responsibilities

We are looking for a social worker with experience in child and youth services. As a social worker in the Reception Unit, you will receive reports and applications, assess cases, conduct safety assessments, and communicate with children and youth aged 0-18 and their guardians. If necessary, an investigation will be initiated, and the case will be handed over to colleagues in the investigation units. Case management and documentation are done according to BBIC, and you will work under both SoL and LVU legislation. The Reception Unit for children and youth is divided into three teams of 6-7 caseworkers each, led by a senior social worker.

An important task for the Reception Unit is to participate in various types of networks, both across Hisingen and with other professional organizations, such as collaboration with schools, preschools, healthcare, police, and SSPF. The unit has an information responsibility towards external and internal organizations as well as towards residents regarding mandatory reporting and the social services' mission, as well as providing advice and support.

The department consists of a Reception Unit, six investigation units, two of which focus on domestic violence and youth at risk of crime, and two units for children placed in foster care.

You will work in pleasant offices at the social office at Borstbindaregatan 12 A, where all our investigation units and the reception are located together in an open office landscape with fixed workplaces. The office is centrally located near Hjalmar Brantingsplatsen with good transportation links.

We consider introduction, supervision, and continuous training to be a given.

Qualifications

Applicants should have a completed degree in social work. Previous experience working with children and youth is considered an advantage.

The Reception Unit often encounters vulnerable individuals and those in need of support first, which requires a respectful, professional, and present approach. You are calm, secure, and helpful to others, even in stressful situations. You have a strong commitment to your work and strive to ensure that clients receive what they need.

You take responsibility, work focused, and care about details. You ensure that the work is done correctly, check, and follow up to ensure it maintains high quality. You need to balance the demands placed on you and, despite time pressure, make well-founded decisions. Decisions that you should be able to stand by and communicate further.
