Do you speak fluent Chinese and want to use your language skills in a social, international, and fast-paced environment?
We are looking for dedicated employees for Silja Symphony ahead of the summer season. Here, you will be an important link between our Chinese-speaking guests and the operation.
As a Catering Host, you will primarily work in our shops on board and be a vital part of the guest experience. In this role, you will actively engage in sales and have daily contact with our Chinese-speaking guests. You will welcome and guide them on board, create a positive overall experience, and provide language support as needed. You will recommend products, highlight local brands, and inform about current promotions and special offers. The work is done in close collaboration with shop staff, restaurant teams, and other functions on board, and also includes practical tasks such as receiving goods, shop support, and cash handling.
During the summer, you typically work according to a schedule of 8–10 days on board, followed by an equal length of paid leave.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has excellent knowledge of Chinese and Swedish, as well as good knowledge of English.
- Has experience in sales and service, as well as cash handling.
- Is service-oriented, engaged, and positive.
- Is flexible and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment.

Whether you have worked at sea before or not, we offer a chance to grow and develop together with us. The first step on your journey will be a four-day onboarding on board to familiarize yourself with the work environment, the ship, and the team.
Once you start working on board, you will be part of the safety organization. Therefore, it is important that you have good physical fitness as well as good knowledge of Swedish, which is the safety language on board, and good knowledge of English. To work on board, you also need citizenship in an EU/EES country, a valid medical certificate for seafarers, and a passport. Background checks are conducted as part of the recruitment process, and alcohol and drug testing may occur according to our safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment on board.

We offer extra and seasonal work during 2026. Selection, interviews, and onboarding periods will take place continuously during the spring. Salary according to collective agreement.
