Officer at Boden Artillery Regiment A 8
If you have an academic degree of 180 credits (including a thesis of at least 15 credits) and meet the qualifications listed below, you can apply for a position as an officer without first completing officer training.
The employment begins with up to 20 months of studies (after individual assessment) through the Special Officer Training (SOFU), with salary. Once you have completed your studies, your service will begin at Boden Artillery Regiment A 8.
Main Responsibilities
Your main task as an officer is to lead military operations. As an officer in the Armed Forces, you work to lead and develop others; you are a leader responsible for personnel and operations. As a leader, you are proactive and can motivate and inspire others. This is the job for you who want a varied everyday life with a mix of troop leadership and administrative duties within the artillery.
After the training, you will be appointed as a second lieutenant. After completing your training, you will begin service at the platoon level, where you will often be involved in the training of conscripts.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
- Academic degree of at least 180 credits from a university or college, including a written thesis of at least 15 credits. Foreign degrees must be validated by UHR.
- Approved military basic training (Conscription/GU/GMU)
- Completed group leader training (GBU) in the Armed Forces with a passing result
- Meets the requirements and is deemed suitable for the profession according to the officer regulations
- Your values align with the Armed Forces' core values and code of conduct
- Good knowledge of Swedish and English in both spoken and written form
- Driver's license B

- The recruitment process includes testing at the National Service and Assessment Agency conducted in Stockholm or Malmö. During this assessment, you will undergo various physical tests as well as interviews with a psychologist and a doctor.
- If you progress in the recruitment process, you will conduct interviews and security assessments at A 8

Boden Artillery Regiment, A 8, is the Armed Forces' competence center for indirect fire. The regiment preserves and develops competencies, equipment, and methods for future capabilities to detect and hit targets at long distances with high precision. A 8 has functional responsibility for CAS (Close Air Support) - leading air support against ground targets and for weather services within the Army in the Armed Forces. Combat in winter conditions is a special competence for the unit in Boden.
