Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority is Hiring Qualified Staff

The Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority (FI) is seeking a qualified employee for the Insurance Supervision department within the Insurance sector. You will play a central role in supervising some of Sweden's largest insurance and occupational pension companies, contributing to ensuring a stable market and strong consumer protection.

About the Job

As a financial inspector in the unit for Supervision of large insurance companies within the Insurance Supervision department, you will be responsible for supervising some of Sweden's largest insurance and occupational pension companies. You will work on a risk-based approach focusing on sound governance, internal control, and risk management. You will lead and follow up on supervisory activities, conduct risk assessments, and plan relevant interventions. The role is central and involves strategic work where you combine a holistic perspective with in-depth analyses. You will coordinate the dialogue between companies and FI's experts, drive issues, and ensure effective and qualitative supervision. Major changes are expected in 2026. Regulations will be updated with the Solvency II review and the new crisis management directive IRRD. You will participate in the work on how AI can play a larger role in supervision and create new working methods and analytical opportunities. Additionally, you will also participate in the European supervisory cooperation at the European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority (Eiopa) and contribute to the development of regulations and practices.

Your Education and Experience

We are looking for someone who:

• has an academic degree in economics or law or equivalent
• has extensive experience working with compliance/risk/audit-related issues or similar within the financial sector
• expresses themselves well in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing.

It is advantageous if you:

• have certification as an internal auditor, CIA (Certified Internal Auditor)
• have worked with supervision of financial companies
• have in-depth knowledge of insurance or occupational pension companies' business models
• have in-depth knowledge of corporate governance
• have worked in internal or external audit
• have experience working with both quantitative and qualitative analyses
• have long-term experience in the insurance or occupational pension field, preferably with insight into regulations and governance.
