Responsibilities

As a Senior Backend Developer at NE, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend services that drive the company's digital products. You will work closely with frontend developers, DevOps, and product owners in agile sprints, as well as with support and editorial teams to contribute to both new development and improvements of existing solutions. The role is strategically operational and involves following functions from idea to delivery with a focus on creating a modern and robust architecture.

You will ensure that the code you write is of high quality and easy to maintain through test automation, code reviews, and shared development standards. In addition, you will drive continuous improvements, share knowledge within the team, and promote a learning climate where new technologies and working methods are evaluated and implemented. If interested and experienced, there is an opportunity to take on tasks in frontend or DevOps to strengthen the team's delivery capacity.

In this role, you will among other things:

• Develop and enhance backend services in Java, Node.js, and TypeScript

• Contribute to the development of microservices and participate in the entire development cycle with a focus on scalability and performance

• Work with DevOps tasks such as CI/CD, containerization with Docker/Kubernetes, and operations in cloud environments (AWS)

• Participate in database work with PostgreSQL and Infrastructure as Code with Terraform

Education, experience, and personal qualities

• 5+ years of experience in backend development in Java and/or Node.js/TypeScript

• Experience with cloud-based solutions and architectural principles such as microservices

• Experience in DevOps, CI/CD, and infrastructure is a plus

• Fluent in Swedish and English, both spoken and written
