About the Role
As a Software Configuration Manager, you play a key role in ensuring integrity, traceability, and quality in the software across several technically advanced development projects. You work in long-term and complex programs where software is developed both internally and by external suppliers, and integrated into advanced, distributed systems.

The role combines strategic responsibility with practical work: you build scalable processes for configuration management, support continuous integration and delivery, and ensure compliance with internal and customer-specific requirements, in close collaboration with systems engineers, developers, IT architects, and project stakeholders.

Summary of Responsibilities:

• Define and maintain strategies, processes, and tools for software configuration management (SCM)
• Manage baselines, version control, and change management for complex software systems, ensuring traceability between requirements, code, builds, and delivered configurations
• Support development teams in branching, merge, and release strategies
• Drive configuration audits and status accounting, and collaborate with DevOps and build/release teams to optimize CI/CD flows
• Support the integration of vendor and third-party software, and create and maintain SCM documentation, guidelines, and best practices

You are proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable taking ownership of processes that span across teams and disciplines. You thrive in complex environments where resilience, clarity, and continuous improvement are crucial, and you feel confident guiding others in best practices within configuration management.

We are looking for someone who has

• A relevant university degree or equivalent experience in software development, IT, or a related field
• Documented experience in software configuration management or a similar role
• Good understanding of version control systems (e.g., Git) and branching strategies
• Experience with build, release, and CI/CD pipelines
• Very good proficiency in Swedish and English, both written and spoken
• Ability to undergo and pass a security clearance check prior to employment, which may entail citizenship requirements

• Experience in large-scale or safety-critical development environments
• Knowledge of standards and frameworks for configuration management
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools
• Experience in system integration or product development organizations
