Do you want to be involved in driving issues regarding the use of modern technology for cross-border communication? As an officer in the unit, we can offer you an exciting role in a fast-paced environment with varied tasks that contribute to societal development.

Your workday. Sweden's tomorrow.

The unit's overall mission is to contribute to a knowledge-based development in the criminal policy area and to assist the government in implementing its policies. The unit is responsible for issues related to crime prevention, support for crime victims, and criminal policy analysis. The unit is also responsible for the governance of the Swedish Prison and Probation Service, the Crime Prevention Council, and the Crime Victim Authority. Coordination of the digitization of the justice chain and legal information are other issues that fall within the unit's area of responsibility.

As a staff member, you will work on and drive issues related to the digitization of legal cooperation within the EU and the use of modern technology for cross-border communication. The work is primarily conducted within the framework of EU cooperation.

We are looking for someone who is interested in working in both an international and a development- and technology-focused environment. The work requires the ability to build and utilize a professional network. You are also expected to represent the ministry and Sweden independently in meetings, conferences, and negotiations. The position involves close collaboration with colleagues within the ministry, with other parts of the Government Offices, and the Foreign Service. International travel is included in the work.

The work sometimes requires quickly prepared materials and positions on current issues, so you should enjoy working under conditions where you are prepared for the unforeseen. The unit has a broad mandate within the criminal policy area, and you may therefore contribute to several parts of the unit's activities.
