We are now looking for someone who wants to help create safety and good conditions for development for the children and young people living at Billdals Björkväg! Billdals Björkväg is an LSS residence with special support and services for children and young people.

Here, 4 young people with autism, ADHD, and intellectual disabilities live, aged 14-21 years.

Your main task as a support assistant is to offer individual pedagogical support that contributes to a meaningful, independent, and developing life in accordance with LSS. You provide individual support to the child in daily activities, which includes everything from personal care and home life to accompanying them on activities and outings.

Communication and cognitive support are areas we actively work with, and we consistently use proven pedagogical methods such as pictures, sign language, and various cognitive aids to create understanding and predictability.

Working in a low-affect manner means that we take responsibility for the situation that arose by evaluating what happened and what may have led to the incident, thereby finding solutions together moving forward. We want the residents of Billdals Björkväg to feel a sense of achievement in every interaction with us.

Under the leadership of the unit manager and support pedagogues, and together with colleagues and other individuals in the child's network, you will help develop methods, routines, and structures for working with the residents to give each individual the best conditions for participation.

At Billdals Björkväg, you are part of a team of about 20 people, where you work together in good collaboration and open communication to provide each individual with the best possible support. We work according to a schedule; day, evening, every other weekend, and sleeping on-call. We use Time Care, where you as staff can propose your own schedule for each 4-week period.

A probationary period may be applied.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a support assistant education, a Child and Youth Program with a focus on social work or pedagogical work, or a Health and Care Program with a specialization in disabilities. Alternatively, other education that the employer deems equivalent.

You will work in our operational system Treserva, so you need basic IT skills and the ability to express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing.

For the position, you must have prior experience working with clarifying pedagogy, LAB (low-affect approach), and various forms of AAC (alternative and augmentative communication). You also need to have previous experience working with individuals with autism and intellectual disabilities.

Since there is a car in the operation, it is an advantage if you have a driver's license.
