Care Assistant at Högalidshemmet

Högalidshemmet is a nursing home with a total of 26 apartments, distributed over two departments with a somatic focus. The other three departments are for short-term care and respite care. Högalidshemmet is located in Hässleholm, about a 10-minute walk from the station, but there are also good bus connections. The residence is Star-marked, which means we work person-centered to provide good care and support.

As a care assistant in a special accommodation, you will work together with your colleagues to provide care tailored to the individual. We support our care recipients with personal care, daily rehabilitation, and social activation to provide a meaningful everyday life.

You will follow basic hygiene routines, wear work clothes, and have a respectful and professional attitude towards care recipients, colleagues, relatives, and others we meet in our work.

The job is in a somatic department, and here is what you will be working with:

• Assisting with personal care, such as showering, hygiene, dressing, and toilet visits, as well as support during meals
• Working according to a person-centered care model where you adapt support according to the individual's unique needs and wishes
• The role includes administering medication, which means you need to receive delegation from authorized personnel
• Supporting with daily tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and minor purchases in the local area
• Participating in social activities, providing support and guidance
• Documenting and staying updated in digital systems
• Writing clear records, documenting according to guidelines, and establishing and following implementation plans to ensure quality and safe care
• Collaborating with colleagues, nurses, occupational therapists, and physiotherapists, as well as cooperating with relatives
• Following workplace routines and guidelines
• Being a contact person or permanent care contact and planning how the interventions should be carried out together with the individual

Who are you?

You are a trained care assistant. You have good computer skills and good knowledge of Swedish, both in reading, speaking, and writing. We prefer that you have experience in caregiving, but it is not a requirement.

Before employment, you need to be able to prove that you have the right to work in Sweden, which is done by showing that you have Swedish citizenship, citizenship within the EU/EES/Switzerland, or a valid residence and/or work permit.

We conduct language tests for positions in elderly care, so you may need to take a test before a possible employment.

To be employed as a care assistant with us, you need to provide proof of a protected professional title from the National Board of Health and Welfare or a certificate from an employer of permanent employment as a care assistant as of July 1, 2023. Attach this to your application.
