Make a Difference. Every Day.
We are now looking for a new physiotherapist colleague for the Medical Department at Trelleborg Hospital!
Your main placement will be in the Medical Department, but you will be employed by the Rehabilitation and Support Unit (ROS). We care for each other and help out during periods of high workload and absence. Therefore, you should be prepared to step in to other departments and clinics. The advantage of this is that we all gain new insights outside our specialty, which also increases our understanding of our colleagues' work situations.
ROS is part of the area of outpatient clinics and rehabilitation and works within the hospital's medical and primary care services as well as within the orthopedic services. At Trelleborg Hospital, there are four inpatient wards: Orthopedic Ward, Cardiology Ward, Neurology Ward, and Medical Ward. We also have several outpatient clinics related to these areas where ROS staff are active: Cardiology and Pulmonary Clinic, Neurology Clinic, Orthopedic Clinic, and Rheumatology Clinic.
ROS consists of occupational therapists, physiotherapists, social workers, and rehab assistants, but the entire hospital has many mixed professions totaling around 500 employees. Trelleborg Hospital wants all employees to have a significant influence on their work as we all have different expertise to contribute to all teams, which provides the best conditions for patients to receive the best person-centered care possible. The values of the hospital and Region Skåne are to be welcoming, driving, and showing care and respect. The hospital has a family-like atmosphere where one feels that they have an important role in a multimodal team.
Do you want to work in a hospital with a rehabilitation team that supports, listens, and cares for each other? Who shows concern, is flexible to help each other, and spreads joy? Who also has fun together with after-work events and candy Fridays? Then this is the right workplace for you. Welcome to apply to us!
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The main placement of the position is in the Medical Department, which is a general medical ward focusing on multi-sick patients who often need assistance/help at home. As a physiotherapist, you will have various tasks to perform, but the main tasks will be mobility assessments and mobility training, clinical functional and activity training, monitoring of respiratory function, and inhalation techniques. It also includes conversations with patients regarding physical activity and assistive device assessments.
There are several positive aspects of working in the Medical Department. For example, there are good opportunities to plan your own work. The pace in the Medical Department can be high at times with quick decisions regarding discharges. As we are currently in the midst of a change where the Medical Department will move to another location in the hospital and increase the number of beds for inpatients, there are also good opportunities to participate and contribute to change work.
The rehab team consists of two occupational therapists, two physiotherapists, and one social worker. Within ROS, there are also two rehab assistants who are available as time permits.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for you who are a licensed physiotherapist with the authority to work within Swedish healthcare. Language skills in Swedish corresponding to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe’s scale are required. You as a person should have a genuine interest in people, be engaged, have a flexible approach, and contribute to a good work environment. Additionally, it is important to be able to prioritize and be structured. It is essential to be able to take space and express your opinion in the team. You see your work as an important part of patient care and have the ability to make quick decisions. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
