The area of operation (VO) forensic psychiatry belongs to the management of Psychiatry, habilitation, and aids. The area consists of nine forensic psychiatric inpatient wards located in Trelleborg, Helsingborg, Hässleholm, and Kristianstad. Our outpatient units are located in Malmö, Helsingborg, and Hässleholm. We currently have about 400 employees.

Forensic psychiatry cares for individuals who have been assigned to forensic psychiatric care by the court. Many have severe psychotic disorders, multiple disabilities with functional impairments, brain injuries, severe personality disorders, or substance abuse. It is common to have secondary complications such as lack of formal education, criminality, social isolation, and ostracism. The goal of forensic psychiatric care is to habilitate individuals suffering from severe mental illness to a daily life in society with a reduced risk of reoffending.

In Hässleholm, there is an outpatient unit and three inpatient wards: wards 10, 11, and 12. Additionally, we have ward nine with nine beds in Kristianstad. The inpatient wards in Hässleholm together have 37 beds. They are primarily intended for patients who have been assigned to forensic psychiatric care. Patients may stay with us for long periods, which gives us unique opportunities to follow them during the treatment and habilitation process. We work to ensure that all patients within inpatient care are our shared responsibility, and it is a given that we help each other between the wards as needed.

JOB DESCRIPTION

We now welcome you as a nurse to us at ward 10, an inpatient ward class 3 with eleven beds.

We offer you an independent and varied job where you can use your specific skills as a nurse. The care work is always based on the individual needs of the patient, and you will receive a tailored introduction with shadowing according to personal needs. Competence development and supervision, for example, in patient work, occur continuously. For documentation in the work, we use the computer support Melior.

As a nurse with us, you have a leading role and are responsible for care. Here, you work multidisciplinary and are part of a team consisting of nursing assistants, doctors, junior doctors, medical secretaries, social workers, psychologists, and occupational therapists. Team collaboration, where different competencies and experiences enrich and complement each other, is fundamental to our working method. Our operations are characterized by diversity, experience, and high competence.

Through a respectful and knowledgeable approach, we currently have a very low frequency of threats and violence within forensic psychiatry. We see your contribution to the unit's continuous development as a very important part of your work.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse with permission to practice in Swedish healthcare. You have language skills in Swedish corresponding to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale. Since travel in the service occurs, it is valuable if you have a B driver's license. If you have specialized training in psychiatry and/or experience from psychiatric care work, it is meritorious. We also appreciate good knowledge of Melior, PASiS, and/or Mina planer.

As a person, we see that you have a good ability to collaborate as well as work independently when needed. Furthermore, we see that you contribute through your engagement and good communication and are willing to share your knowledge with colleagues and nursing students.
