The Adult Psychiatry Ward 54 is located at Helsingborg Hospital and is a general psychiatric care ward for adults of all ages, with specialist competence in geriatric psychiatry. Here, patients aged 18 and older are cared for and in need of specialized psychiatric round-the-clock care. Common diagnoses include depression, bipolar disorder, delusional disorder, personality disorders, confusion, and dementia with psychiatric symptoms. We take into account the psychiatric, somatic, psychosocial, and existential well-being of the patients with an overarching goal of continuously developing and improving care. Our department has recently moved into completely renovated premises with only single rooms where we currently have twelve regular treatment places. We also have a close collaboration with the geriatric psychiatric outpatient clinic located next door to our department.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

In the department, we work in a cross-professional team where you collaborate with other nurses, nursing assistants, doctors, social workers, occupational therapists, and medical secretaries. With us, everyone is an important part of the patients' care and contributes with their unique competence. As a nurse, you will plan the patient's care, treat the patient, and participate in ward rounds. Daily work also includes some medical technical tasks.

We continuously work to improve care within our operations. Through training in communication, lectures on specific medical conditions, and basic training for new employees, you will gain a knowledge base to provide our patients with good and safe care. At ward 54, we also work based on Safewards, a method to create safety for patients in round-the-clock care. As a nurse, you, along with your colleagues, play an important role in driving this work forward.

To help you settle into the role as smoothly as possible, we offer an introduction tailored to your skills and experiences. We also value professional development and therefore offer continuous training, both internally and externally.

The position involves working day and evening shifts. We also offer a wish schedule, which means you have a great opportunity to influence your own working hours.

QUALIFICATIONS

We welcome you who are a licensed nurse with the authority to practice within Swedish healthcare. Language skills in Swedish corresponding to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe’s scale are required. If you have specialist training in psychiatry, it is considered an advantage for the position. Previous experience in psychiatry is also beneficial. We also welcome you who are newly graduated and have an interest in our target group.
