System Administrator for CMDB Tool

The IT Support Systems unit is part of Region Gävleborg's IT management. The unit is responsible for ensuring that our information and communication tools function optimally and are tailored to the needs of the operations. We are about 12 employees in the team, working together to deliver stable, effective, and operationally relevant IT solutions.

Do you want to help build something new? We are looking for a system administrator for our upcoming CMDB tool (Configuration Management Database). This is a unique opportunity to be involved from the start in the implementation of a central system that will become a cornerstone of our IT environment. Initially, the role will focus heavily on project work related to implementation, transitioning to long-term management and further development. The primary location is Gävle, but there is an option to work from Söderhamn or Hudiksvall.

RESPONSIBILITIES

You will be part of a team responsible for managing IT systems for operations including IT, property, communication, and X-trafik. As a system administrator, you will have significant system responsibility and work closely with colleagues to ensure that implementation, management, and development are carried out in a structured and needs-based manner. Your primary focus will be to implement and configure the CMDB tool in our IT environment, ensure that the system supports the operations' processes and quality requirements, participate in projects for implementation and development of features, and after implementation, manage and further develop the system.

Main Responsibilities

• manage systems according to decisions, laws, plans, agreements, and processes
• configure, plan, test, and verify the system
• participate in the development of features and integrations
• produce system documentation, manuals, and procedure descriptions
• drive assignments within the system that include planning, executing, and following up
• monitor the external environment and stay updated within your area of responsibility
• be part of the team's third-line support.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is structured and works in a planned and systematic way to deliver high-quality work. You enjoy collaborating, have good communication skills, and build trusting relationships while actively contributing to the team's common goals. The role requires flexibility where you adapt smoothly to changes, meet new challenges constructively, and find solutions when obstacles arise. At the same time, you are proactive and take initiative, work independently, and drive processes forward with a focus on results.

For the position, the following is required:

• at least a high school education
• knowledge and experience working in IT and case management systems
• very good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written
• good knowledge of English, both spoken and written.

Meritorious:

• university education in IT
• experience in system administration
• previous experience in the development or implementation of IT systems
• technical knowledge of CMDB or similar tools
• experience with process-oriented work and understanding of ITIL or similar frameworks.
