About the job

Södersjukhuset is one of the largest emergency hospitals in the country with approximately 4,900 employees. It is one of four emergency hospitals in the Emergency Hospital Board, Region Stockholm. The finance department consists of about 30 people and is divided into three sections: Accounting Section, Controller Section, and Procurement and Purchasing Section. There are 10 people working in Accounting, including 4 accountants. As an accountant, you report directly to the head of accounting.

Job Description

In the role of accountant, you will handle typical accounting tasks and actively contribute to developing and streamlining our financial processes and system support. You will work independently but in close collaboration with colleagues in finance and other parts of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Ongoing bookkeeping and account reconciliations
• Monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Ensure correct accounting according to applicable regulations
• Participate in and drive improvement work regarding processes and financial systems
• System management and administration in financial systems
• Support and guide colleagues in accounting issues

Qualifications

We are looking for a humble accountant with a drive to develop and improve routines and processes. You work in a structured and meticulous manner, have an analytical mindset, and the ability to see the bigger picture. You are a team player who collaborates well with others while taking responsibility for your tasks, are solution-oriented, and enjoy working towards deadlines.

Required Skills

• At least three years of experience in qualified accounting work
• Very good knowledge of accounts receivable, bookkeeping, and financial statements
• Strong system understanding and interest in digitalization and automation
• Good knowledge of Excel and experience with business and financial systems
• Academic education in finance/accounting, or a high school diploma in economics supplemented with relevant and extensive work experience
• Very good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written

Meritorious:

• Experience working in Raindance
• Experience with Heroma
• Experience in transaction-intensive operations
