About the Role

Build Opportunities for the Future with Us

You and your colleagues will contribute to the safe and efficient management of Swedish radioactive waste. With world-leading technology and care for people, the environment, and society, we are building opportunities for fossil-free electricity production.

SKB is looking for a structured and committed testing leader for the interim storage facility Clab in Oskarshamn.

Where You Will Work

The Operations and Maintenance Department is responsible for the operation and maintenance of SKB's nuclear facilities Clab and SFR, as well as the transport system. The department has about 130 employees distributed across three locations: Oskarshamn, Östhammar, and Solna. At Clab, located about 30 kilometers north of Oskarshamn, we receive and temporarily store spent nuclear fuel and core components from Sweden's nuclear power plants while waiting for the final repository to be constructed and operational. At SFR, located in Forsmark, we receive both operational and decommissioning waste from the nuclear power plants, and the facility is currently being expanded.

What You Will Do

You will work with colleagues in the assembly and testing unit. Here, you will have the opportunity to help build and develop the unit together with colleagues in electrical, mechanical, and construction fields.

As a Testing Leader, you will have overall responsibility for testing and commissioning in large projects and in connection with the modernization of existing facilities. You will be an expert in various project groups alongside colleagues from other disciplines.

Your tasks will include, for example:

  • Coordinating testing activities between operations, projects, and suppliers
  • Participating in project meetings
  • Directing, leading, and following up on testing activities
  • Developing work instructions, schedules, controls, work preparations, and permits, etc.
  • Creating/updating preliminary testing and commissioning plans
  • Resource and competence assessment
  • Acquiring resources and planning for the execution of testing activities
  • Supporting project operations during procurement
  • As a testing leader in a nuclear operation, you will follow the need for various documents, so you enjoy administrative work.

Requirements

We are looking for someone with a high school or university education in electrical or mechanical engineering, or equivalent experience. Experience in assembly or testing, for example as an installer or lead assembler, is an advantage.

As a person, you are unpretentious and create results together with others. You find it easy to communicate goals, create an open dialogue, build networks, and establish good relationships internally and externally. We are looking for someone who is skilled at solving problems, both individually and collaboratively. You are someone who likes to take responsibility and thrives in a leadership position. You also have a good ability to plan and organize your work, and you find it easy to see things from a holistic perspective.

The role involves a lot of dialogue and collaboration, so a good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish is a prerequisite for success in the position.
