We are expanding our operations and are looking for intensive care nurses to our unit with a good working environment and opportunities for professional development. The hospital in Ystad is an emergency hospital with a wide range of specialized care and a family-like atmosphere. We offer healthcare with quality, accessibility, a holistic view, and care. The intensive care and postoperative department in Ystad currently has intensive care beds, intermediate care, and postoperative care beds that are staffed around the clock, where both children and adults are cared for. In the recovery department, there are also ten monitoring places from Monday to Friday. The hospital in Ystad operates according to the Magnet Model, which was introduced in 2022.

The intensive care unit focuses on general intensive care and offers treatment in a high-tech environment. We perform surgeries in general surgery, gynecology, urology, orthopedics, as well as ear, nose, and throat surgeries. We offer mentorship to support and strengthen the professional identity of new employees, with the goal of developing well-functioning and secure teams with satisfied employees.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

In the intensive care and postoperative department in Ystad, we work cross-professionally together with nursing assistants, doctors, social workers, and physiotherapists. In your role as an intensive care nurse with us, you are responsible for advanced nursing of patients with impending or manifest failure in vital functions due to severe illnesses, accidents, or advanced postoperative care. Every week we also have competence-enhancing lectures in the unit. We use working hours with a quota model where you have the opportunity to influence your schedule and have time for recovery.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse with the authority to practice within Swedish healthcare. You also have language skills in Swedish corresponding to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe’s level scale. In addition, you have a specialist education in intensive care. You find it interesting to work with medical technology equipment.

Previous experience in intensive care and/or postoperative care is an advantage. We also prefer that you have good computer skills and can easily learn new systems.

As a person, you have a positive attitude and are flexible and outgoing. Since we work under the principle of freedom with responsibility, you need to have personal maturity and a good ability to collaborate with different colleagues. This is a position for you who can quickly adapt to changing conditions as needed and requires that you can handle stressful situations.
