About the Assignment:

This teenage girl with Down syndrome and severe intellectual disability, along with very limited verbal language, is looking for a woman/girl who wants to accompany her on various activities she enjoys on weekends. You will accompany her to the swimming pool or to Korallen, which is a center for sensory stimulation, and in the future to the stable for horse therapy.

She also enjoys playing games, watching movies, balancing on a balance board, and swinging. She would also like to visit the Tram Museum and the Performing Arts Museum at some point.

She needs your support when going up and down stairs as she has difficulty bending her knees. She also requires assistance both practically and verbally with dressing, toileting, hygiene, and during meals.

Your Qualifications:

You should have experience with NPF diagnoses, preferably Down syndrome, either personally or through work relationships. It would be beneficial to know a bit about visual support and/or TAKK. You should be a calm person who understands what low-arousal responses are. Being able to read the person you are working with, especially during transitions, is important.

Female - age is not a major concern - suitability is the most important. You should feel comfortable changing diapers. In addition to the above qualifications, you must enjoy swimming, as it is her favorite activity. You should also have some experience with horses or feel comfortable around them.

About the Position:

12 hours/month distributed over 2 - 3 times/month, preferably Saturdays, 3 - 6 hours per occasion. Start as soon as possible.

As a companion, you will accompany a client with a disability on various activities. This may involve shopping, visiting museums, or perhaps having a coffee.

According to the law on background checks and God Omsorg's policy, anyone working with minors must present a certificate from the police's criminal and suspicion register before employment.
