Starting in the autumn of 2026, Värmdö Vocational Gymnasium (formerly VTG) will launch the new upper secondary education program in Marine Technology.
We are now looking for a practical and dedicated teacher in marine technology. Initially, you will teach students in Archipelago Navigation, Marine Electrical Systems, Marine Engine Technology, and Marine Systems.
As a teacher with us, you will guide students in both theory and practice – from electrical systems and engines to navigation in archipelago environments.
The employment rate in the first year depends on the applicant's qualifications and willingness to assist in other vocational programs as needed.
We are looking for someone who
- Has experience in marine technical operations (e.g., machinist, technician, or ship engineer, coast guard, etc.).
- Has pedagogical skills and enjoys working with young people.
- Can safely operate a boat and has good knowledge of the archipelago and maritime safety.
- Is comfortable in a workshop environment and enjoys sharing your knowledge.
Meritorious:
- Qualification in engine officer class VIII or other maritime education.
- Qualification in ship officer class VIII
- Experience from upper secondary vocational programs.
- Knowledge of digital tools in navigation and technical documentation.
