Workplace Description

The main task of the IT department is to provide IT services to the entire Police Authority and is an important part of crime prevention and law enforcement efforts. IT is one of the most important tools for streamlining police work and improving the quality of police operations. Therefore, the authority invests heavily in strengthening the department with new specialist expertise and the latest technology for the benefit of citizens and employees in the police operations.

Operations and infrastructure are responsible for the management, development projects, and lifecycle management of the police's IT infrastructure in the areas of data and telephony. Operations and infrastructure also coordinate the deployment of the Police Authority's IT systems, release management, and are responsible for preparedness and continuity planning, IT incidents, IT problems, and changes. They are also responsible for information and IT security, signal protection, and investigations when system and security monitoring detects security incidents or vulnerabilities. Operations and infrastructure should also support development and management, ensuring that security tests, audits, and follow-ups of IT security are conducted.

We are looking for a project leader for the section responsible for maintaining, supplying, and developing standard platforms regarding client solutions and telecommunications or IT support for specialist functions such as intervention units, covert coercive measures, bomb protection, police aviation, canine operations, the police cavalry, maritime police, and more.

Job Description

The role of project leader can be likened to that of a project manager where you will be involved in driving the development of capabilities at the technical forefront, which may be new to the authority. The capabilities we deliver will evolve over time, and your responsibility is to lead that work, from start to finish, while also driving the long-term efforts to maintain and refine our offerings.

As a project leader, you will closely collaborate with other groups within the IT department as well as from other departments within the authority to gather the expertise needed to achieve set goals.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Post-secondary education in a relevant field or equivalent work experience that the Police Authority deems comparable
  • Several years of work experience leading complex IT assignments in a larger organization recently
  • Good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both verbally and in writing
  • Good ability to express yourself in English, both verbally and in writing
  • Swedish citizenship

It is advantageous if you also have:

  • Good knowledge of IT infrastructure as assessed by the employer
  • Experience with agile work
  • Experience in creating and maintaining good customer relationships
  • Work experience in requirements specification during IT development
  • Experience working with IT security

Personal Qualities

Since the role involves many points of contact, we see it as essential that you value good collaboration and have the ability to communicate smoothly with others to achieve common goals. Furthermore, we see that you are driven with a desire to develop and share your own expertise.

We will place great importance on personal suitability.
