Workplace Description
The primary task of the IT department is to provide IT services to the entire Police Authority and is an important part of crime prevention and law enforcement efforts. IT is one of the most important tools for streamlining police work and increasing the quality of police operations. Therefore, the authority invests heavily in strengthening the department with new specialist skills and the latest technology for the benefit of citizens and employees in the police operations.
The Operations and Infrastructure section is responsible for the management, development projects, and lifecycle management of the police's IT infrastructure in the areas of data and telecommunications. Operations and Infrastructure is also responsible for coordinating the deployment of the Police Authority's IT systems, release management, as well as being responsible for preparedness and continuity planning, IT incidents, IT problems, and changes. Operations and Infrastructure is also responsible for information and IT security, signal protection, and is responsible for investigations when system and security monitoring has detected security incidents or vulnerabilities. Operations and Infrastructure should also provide support for development and management, be responsible for conducting security tests, audits, and follow-up of IT security.
The position falls under the section responsible for maintaining, supplying, and developing standard platforms regarding client solutions and telecommunications as well as IT support to specialist functions such as intervention forces, covert coercive measures, bomb protection, police aviation, dog operations, the Police Cavalry, the maritime police, etc.
Job Description
As a developer, you will both maintain existing technical solutions and be involved in developing and creating new solutions. We work closely with the operational business where you help to understand their needs and challenges and translate this into solutions.
Your tasks will mainly involve:
- Being part of the development work
- Ensuring that we remain at the forefront of technology
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who has:
- Post-secondary education in IT or equivalent acquired experience that the Police Authority deems equivalent.
- Several years of work experience in programming in Python and/or Java
- Very good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written
- Very good knowledge of English, both spoken and written
- Swedish citizenship
Meritorious
- Good experience in Linux-based environments
- Work experience in system integrations deemed relevant, preferably within PySpark
- Work experience in app development; iOS and Swift UT
