Our Operations

The Department of Women's Health includes the sections of gynecology and obstetrics. The operations provide outpatient and inpatient care, and our patients come from both Region Uppsala and other regions as we provide specialized, highly specialized, and National Highly Specialized care. We work from a holistic view of the patient and collaboration between different personnel categories. Research is a significant aspect of the operations, and we collaborate with many units both within and outside the hospital.

The Maternal Health Unit is a unit within the Department of Women's Health and consists of a maternal health consultant, a coordinating midwife, and an administrator. The mission of the Maternal Health Unit is to develop the content at the midwifery clinics in Region Uppsala, which means having a coordinating function, conducting quality follow-up, issuing and updating guidelines, and providing further education for midwives and doctors. Furthermore, the mission is to promote cooperation in the care chains related to maternal health. Currently, there are 26 midwifery clinics in Region Uppsala, operated both within the region's management and by private actors on behalf of the region. The unit's mission is directed towards all midwifery clinics in the county, regardless of the provider.

Your Mission

We are now looking for you who are a specialist in obstetrics and gynecology. The position is a 100% consultant position/assistant consultant position where the role of maternal health consultant corresponds to 50%. The remaining time is clinical service based on agreement. On-call duty is included in the position. There are good opportunities for research. The maternal health consultant reports directly to the department head.

Your Qualifications

We are looking for someone with several years of experience as a specialist in obstetrics and gynecology. Clinical focus on obstetrics is an advantage, and it is preferable that you have a doctorate. As a person, you are attentive, have good communication skills, and find it easy to collaborate.
