Stockholm – our capital city with millions of dreams, expectations, and ambitions.

We work for everyone living here today and in the future. We are now looking for you who want to think big, new, and differently with us – for the people of Stockholm.

Welcome to us

We are looking for someone who enjoys a varied job in a changing environment where no two days are alike!

The area of economic assistance is organized into five units, one reception unit and four investigation units.

The individual is at the center of our work, and we collaborate closely, even though we have different responsibilities in the handling process. The reception unit is led by a unit manager and two team leaders who are there to guide you and your colleagues as well as to lead and distribute the daily work. Here, we value a good working climate where we support each other. We see the value in our differences and welcome employees with diverse backgrounds.

Welcome with your application!

We offer

With us, you will participate in a structured introduction program for new employees, which is followed up over six months by team leaders, mentors, and unit managers. We offer continuous professional development, including training in MI, mapping methods such as Initial assessment and FIA, basic training in economic assistance, and knowledge about neuropsychiatric disabilities. All teams have external supervision once a month. Within the area of economic assistance, there are also various working groups where you have the opportunity to be involved and influence the development of the operations.

To ensure you have a good work life with us, there are several benefits for you as an employee. Read more about our benefits here.

Your role

We at the reception are the first contact for people seeking economic assistance. This means a job that places high demands on clarity, good communication, and respectful treatment. With us, you will meet a diverse client group with broad cultural backgrounds. You will collaborate with several actors, including the Employment Agency, Jobbtorg, addiction care, the Social Insurance Agency, LSS, healthcare, and psychiatry. All clients have an individual planning that forms the basis for the continued work.

The work at the reception is varied and sometimes intense. You make quick and legally sound assessments, collaborate with other units within the administration, and guide clients further, for example through new visits, referrals to the right authority, or by providing support to achieve self-sufficiency. As support in your work, you have joint case discussions, weekly team meetings, and regular individual case reviews.

Your skills and experience

We are looking for you who have:

  • A degree in social work
  • Good written and verbal skills in Swedish.

It is an advantage if you have experience in economic assistance.

We are looking for someone who is self-driven, structured, and has a genuine interest in people. To thrive with us, you need to have good collaboration skills and a professional approach, both in meeting clients and in collaboration with other actors. Since the reception team is the face of the operations, legally sound handling, good service, and clear communication are crucial in our work.

You are goal- and results-oriented and motivated to find ways to achieve self-sufficiency together with the client. You easily build trusting relationships, both with clients and partners, and see opportunities even in challenging situations. As a person, you are secure, flexible, and can remain calm even when the pace is high. You work in a structured manner but also have the ability to adapt to new conditions. You have a service-oriented attitude and are driven to be involved in change processes and development work.

Great emphasis is placed on personal abilities and skills.

Your application

We recruit without a personal letter to strengthen the focus on the competencies and experiences required for this role. In assessing your application, we will only consider your CV and a number of questions you will be asked to answer when applying for the position. We ask that you respond concretely and briefly to the questions, and that there is a clear connection between your answers and your CV.

Probationary employment may be applied.

The City of Stockholm works with competency-based recruitment aimed at recognizing each person's competence and thus counteracting discrimination.
