We are looking for someone to work with a man in his 60s who will soon be coming home from a long hospital stay after suffering a severe brain hemorrhage last year. The man lives centrally in Kungsholmen in his own apartment overlooking the picturesque green areas of inner Stockholm. Our client has a rich social life with friends and family members whom he meets regularly. Before the brain hemorrhage, he worked as a graphic designer with a focus on typography, which he has passionately pursued throughout his career. The man's major interests in life are design, modern art, architecture, music (jazz, RnB, funk, soul, etc.), and sports (cycling, cross-country skiing, and athletics). As an assistant, you will be a very important part of the man's life where, in addition to his strong connection to culture and sports, he enjoys spending time in nature, studying birds and other wildlife.

The man's needs require supervision and assistance around the clock. He has paralysis that results in very limited mobility. He needs help with all ADL (Activities of Daily Living) and has a reduced ability to communicate. Since the man also breathes through a tracheostomy tube, you will largely work with another assistant to ensure that his breathing functions correctly. A central part of the job is to prevent blockages in the tube by regularly removing mucus/saliva with a suction catheter and providing mucolytic inhalations. In addition to the tracheostomy, our client receives assistance with his breathing through a ventilator. The man also has a feeding tube in his stomach.

Other requirements for you as an assistant in this assignment:

• You are a non-smoker.
• You have fluent Swedish in speech and writing.

Novum as an employer ensures that you as a new employee receive paid theoretical and practical introduction to the tasks. Introduction and training will be provided by hospital staff with specialist competence in tracheostomy.

About the employmentWe apply the employment form temporary as long as the assignment lasts with an initial hourly employment during the introduction. You are offered a fixed hourly wage according to agreement and other compensations according to the collective agreement (Fremia-Kommunal: Personal Assistance).

The working hours are 08-15, 15-22, and 22-08 and may vary based on your schedule. In connection with the employment, we try to accommodate requests regarding working hours.

About the recruitmentThe selection process is ongoing, and more information about the assignment will be provided at a possible interview. Start date will be according to agreement. For employment with Novum Assistans, you are required to have a BankID and agree to use your BankID in the service.
