Job Description

We are looking for our new colleague, a school counselor for a pleasant primary school in Botkyrka. The position is 60% with a start as soon as possible in January and ends at the conclusion of the spring term.

Your Background and the Role

We are looking for a school counselor who is committed, proactive, and wants to feel that their work can truly make a difference for the students. You are an important part of the organization and value being visible among students and educators. You will work preventively at the individual, group, and organizational levels.

Your tasks include, among others:

• Participating in the work of the student health team at the school and being a driving force in psychosocial issues.

• Being involved in educational investigations together with other professionals in student health and participating in the systematic follow-up work of student health.

• Working advisory towards educators and other professionals within the school.

• Collaborating with others, both internally and externally, e.g., with actors such as the police, social services, habilitation, and field assistants.

• Having supportive conversations with students.

It is important that you are structured, self-driven, and have a good ability to plan and prioritize your work effectively. You are responsible and have excellent collaboration skills, and you are flexible, initiative-taking, attentive, and empathetic. You enjoy sharing your experiences and knowledge while being open to new working methods.

Qualifications:

• Graduated social worker with documented experience working with children and adolescents.

• You have experience providing advice, support, and guidance to children and adults.

• You can analyze the organization and based on this prioritize and define your assignment.

• Good knowledge of social services laws and regulations.

• Familiarity with the school's governing documents.

Experience working as a school counselor previously is an advantage.
