Assistant Nurse to the Orthopedic Department at Östersund Hospital

The Orthopedic Department is part of the orthopedic area at Östersund Hospital. The department is divided into acute, elective, and geriatric sections. Within the sections, we work in cross-functional team constellations. You will work with nurses, nursing assistants, doctors, occupational therapists, and physiotherapists. Connected to the department are also pharmacists, staffing assistants, and nurses with leadership assignments as clinical nurse leaders.

We continuously conduct improvement work and perform daily risk assessments of both the work environment and patient safety. This is done, among other things, through work with the green cross.

In the acute section, we care for patients who have broken bones, hips, arms, or other parts of the skeleton, back problems, infections in bones or joints, pre- and post-operative care, rehabilitation, and mobilization, etc.

Right now, the acute section of the orthopedic department is looking for you who are a certified nursing assistant.

RESPONSIBILITIES

You will perform the following tasks:

  • Pre- and post-operative care and nursing
  • Wound dressings and wound care, especially after surgeries
  • Nursing assessments and follow-ups, in close collaboration with doctors and other professionals
  • Daily documentation and record-keeping
  • Risk assessments and care prevention
  • Participation in improvement work and quality development related to patient safety and work environment
  • Internal training in orthopedics, both theoretical and practical / through simulation exercises
  • Provide support, security, and care to patients
  • And more

QUALIFICATIONS

Nursing assistant, experience is an advantage. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.

Fluent in Swedish, both spoken and written.
