Blomstergården is a special accommodation in central Krokom for elderly people with physical, mental, and cognitive disabilities. We are now looking for nursing assistants who want to provide good care for our elderly citizens in four different departments; one short-term and three dementia departments. Social Administration

The Social Administration consists of 600 employees where the breadth of the assignment is extensive. The administration is divided into five operational areas and is present throughout the municipality. Here, we are responsible for providing care and support, assistance and services, as well as health and medical care to the municipality's citizens who need it, at all stages of life.

A day as a nursing assistant at Blomstergården

Do you want to make a real difference in the daily lives of people with dementia or cognitive impairment? At Blomstergården, we work with heart, competence, and understanding to create safety, structure, and meaning for our residents – every day.

As a nursing assistant in our dementia departments, you provide support, care, and security to individuals with cognitive disabilities. The work is always based on the individual's needs, wishes, and implementation plans, where your knowledge and empathetic ability are crucial to creating a meaningful and predictable everyday life for our residents.

In your role, you will, among other things:

• Provide care and meet individuals with cognitive impairment in a professional, calm, and respectful manner
• Work based on person-centered care with a focus on safety, continuity, and participation
• Contribute to maintaining structure, routines, and a calm environment that promotes safety and orientation
• Document and follow up on implementation plans
• Collaborate with nurses, rehabilitation staff, relatives, and unit managers
• Participate in workplace meetings, development work, and value-based work

We work together as a team and care for a work environment where colleagues support and strengthen each other – especially in situations that can be emotionally or cognitively demanding.

Your qualifications

Requirements:

• Nursing assistant education with a recognized diploma
• Good Swedish in speech and writing, with the ability to communicate clearly and document accurately

Meritorious:

• Experience working with individuals with dementia or other cognitive impairments
• Knowledge of approaches and methods adapted for dementia care, such as validating approaches or low-arousal responses
• Experience working person-centered and individually adapted
• Experience with documentation in digital systems within care and support

We are looking for someone who has a genuine commitment to providing care and support to individuals with cognitive impairments. You have the ability to create safety, handle stressful situations calmly, and show great patience in meeting each individual. You approach people with warmth, attentiveness, and respect – always with the individual's needs at the center.

Other information

Permanent employment, full-time or part-time depending on preference. A probationary period may be applied.

The work involves day, evening, and weekend shifts.
