Specialist Physician in General Medicine at Lits Health Center

Do you want to be a part of Region Jämtland Härjedalen – a region to long for and grow in? With us, you contribute to development and growth throughout the county and work to provide the best possible service, care, and support for everyone living in or visiting the region.

We offer a work environment characterized by collaboration, participation, and commitment, where both breadth and specialized expertise are valued. Here you will have the opportunity to develop in your role, whether you are new to the profession or have extensive experience.

The primary care within Region Jämtland Härjedalen is organized into 4 local care areas, and since January 2022, primary care and ambulance services have been integrated under good and close care. Each local care area is an economic unit led by a manager. Primary care is also responsible for the region's medical advice, youth reception, and the local care department Näva, all of which are grant-funded. Within the primary care area, there is a good research climate and it has the status of a university hospital unit. Our R&D unit can assist with support and scientific supervision together with Umeå University.

Lits Health Center is a well-functioning health center and workplace, with good routines and collaboration mixed with a large portion of innovation. We collaborate with all our colleagues across different professional categories to create good care and provide good conditions for patients. Currently, we have over 3750 registered patients, about 17 employees, and two unit managers in shared leadership. Our medical team consists of 3 specialists in general medicine, 2 resident doctors, a temporary physician, and a temporary assistant physician. The team also includes district nurses, registered nurses, nursing assistants, and medical secretaries. Additionally, there is a psychosocial unit with a psychologist, social worker, and psychotherapist shared with Lugnvik, as well as a rehabilitation coordinator, physiotherapist, and occupational therapist. In the same building, there is maternity and child health care. We are responsible for two nursing homes.

Our health center is located about 20 kilometers outside the city center, near the Indals River, with opportunities for great running routes, cycling tours, or walks. We have high ceilings, a good atmosphere where we help each other, and we want to create a good work environment together. We want to be at the forefront and constantly develop.

Warm welcome to us!

JOB DESCRIPTION

Primary care is in the midst of the transition to close care, which means, among other things, a responsibility for fewer patients in favor of an increased responsibility for our most vulnerable elderly. We work based on the concept of expanded primary care, which also means increased opportunities for home visits and thus being able to convey security to the patients who need it most.

The work as a specialist in general medicine involves responsibility for a geographical area with outpatient visits, urgent visits, home visits, qualified telephone consultations, and in-depth medication reviews. We have a medical meeting with a joint referral review once a week, and in addition, time is allocated for development work. Occasional on-call duties are included in the work.

We are responsible for four nursing homes, including short-term placements, and have a well-functioning collaboration with the municipality's district nurses in home care. Within the framework of your employment, there is an opportunity for side assignments within nursing homes, maternity care, and child health care. Supervision of candidates and training doctors is part of the work. Due to the fact that primary care has the status of a university hospital unit, the position includes teaching, supervision, and training of medical students at Umeå University.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for a curious and interested specialist physician in general medicine who is interested in primary care and wants to develop our health center together with us. Independent research and research supervision are meritorious but not a formal requirement for the position.

We see that you are, as mentioned before, genuinely interested in primary care, self-driven, take responsibility, and want to contribute to a good atmosphere in the workgroup.

Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.

OTHER

In Region Jämtland Härjedalen, our work is permeated by our core values: we create value for those we serve, act with decisiveness, and strive to always be perceived as reliable. With us, you will have the opportunity to work in an organization where these values shape everyday life and where your work truly makes a difference.

As an employee, you will have access to a wide range of benefits through our benefits portal. We care about your health and offer wellness grants or wellness hours. At Östersund Hospital, you can also train for free at the gym Zefyren and participate in instructor-led classes.

Selection and appointment may occur continuously during the advertising period, so we encourage you to submit your application as soon as possible.

Primary care is a healthcare unit within the region's health and medical care administration, and where higher education for medical degrees and research is conducted. This means that all applicants must be assessed by the R&D manager before any employment. Consequently, the application must include the following accompanying documents:

  • A structured CV
  • Certificate of medical degree from the institution(s) where the physician completed their basic education. This also applies to physicians educated in another EU country and in countries outside the EU.
  • License certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare
  • Specialist competence certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare
  • Certificate/documentation of teaching experience and possibly other pedagogical merits.
  • If applicable, certificate of academic degree, for example, Doctor of Medicine or Docent, as well as the date of disputation and title of the dissertation.
  • Documented supervisor training
  • If applicable, a complete updated publication list.
  • Possibly further documented merits regarding clinical knowledge/experience, clinical development work, leadership experience, and anything else the applicant wishes to highlight as meritorious for the sought position.

We have an established method for recruitment and therefore kindly but firmly request no contact from advertising sellers or other sellers of recruitment services.
