Within adult psychiatry, there are various departments: addiction care, psychosis departments, general psychiatry, psychiatric intensive care unit, and emergency reception. We treat patients with psychiatric issues or psychiatric diagnoses such as affective disorders, depression, personality disorders, anxiety issues, psychotic disorders, eating disorders, as well as substance abuse and dependency issues.

The child and adolescent psychiatry (Bup) in Skåne is a field that addresses children and adolescents with severe and moderate mental health issues. The work includes both family and network. Bup provides specialized care, outpatient care, inpatient care, and emergency care. Bup has a broad mandate and can therefore provide advice and support to prevent mental health issues, treat milder mental health issues, and treat more serious or acute mental illnesses.

The forensic psychiatry area consists of full-day departments and outpatient units. Here, individuals who have been sentenced to forensic psychiatric care by the court are treated. Many have severe psychotic disorders, multiple disabilities with functional impairments, brain injuries, severe personality disorders, or substance abuse. The goal is to habilitate individuals suffering from severe mental health issues to a daily life in society with a reduced risk of re-offending.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a nursing assistant, you will participate in the psychiatric care of our patients, working for high patient safety through close collaboration with colleagues and patients. You may work with support conversations, case management, group activities, documentation in the journal system Melior, and being responsible for daily routines. The work is varied, developing, and every day presents new challenges based on meeting patients in their well-being and strengthening them in their recovery process.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has an interest in psychiatry. To work with nursing assistant tasks within Region Skåne, you must meet one of the following requirements:

• trained nursing assistant and meet the Socialstyrelsen's requirements for protected professional title regardless of whether you have studied according to previous or current program structure.
• have completed and passed at least the fourth semester of the nursing program.
• have completed and passed at least the sixth semester of the medical program.

Additionally, you have good knowledge of Swedish in both speech and writing. Previous experience in the field, preferably in inpatient care, is an advantage. Knowledge of the journal system Melior is a plus.

If you do not have the proof, you may be employed as a care assistant for a fixed term, pending the proof. Medical and nursing students are employed with the title care assistant.
