Social Services Administration

The Social Services Administration operates on the principle that all people we meet have the same value and are unique. Within the administration, there are IFO, LSS operations, social psychiatry, health care, home care, and special accommodations. About 800 employees work here around the clock for our target groups.

Job Responsibilities

As a substitute, you are employed by the Staffing Unit but work within the areas of the Social Services Administration where there is the greatest need for substitutes; currently, the need is greatest in our outer areas.

You will first be introduced to one workplace, but if needed and desired, there is the opportunity to work at multiple workplaces. We use the staffing system Time Care Pool where you, as a substitute, indicate your availability for work. We apply direct booking, which makes it very important that your availability is accurate. If a need arises at short notice, we will send a text message request first.

The length of work shifts varies, and the working hours include daytime, evenings, and nights. To be employed as a substitute, it is therefore important that you can work uncomfortable hours.

Working in a special accommodation (SÄBO) means providing service and care around the clock, where each user has their own room. Together with other staff or on your own, you assist with personal care, such as dressing and undressing, help during meal situations, and hygiene.

Qualifications

The core of our operations is care, and a good approach is of utmost importance. You have a genuine interest in working with people and a desire to make a difference in their lives and everyday life.

The work requires that you can collaborate with others, are attentive, and behave with great respect towards those you meet in all different situations. Working with people always means that unpredictable situations can arise, and you are a person who can maintain your calm when the situation demands it. You have a respectful approach and always strive for the best possible encounter.

We are looking for someone who is of legal age, responsible, and has personal maturity. It is important that you are confident in the Swedish language, both spoken and written. It is an advantage if you are a trained nursing assistant or have previous experience in similar work.

Basic computer skills are a requirement. Working in a special accommodation may involve uncomfortable working positions and transfers, so you should have a physique that can handle this. If you have a B driver's license, it is an advantage.

As a substitute at Avesta municipality, you have free access to the staff gym and 12 free swims at one of the municipality's swimming facilities each year.
