We are now looking for nurses for summer temporary positions at the Emergency Department, wards 90 and 95 for 24/7 shifts.

The Regional Adult Psychiatry in Falun Säter has a county-wide mission within adult psychiatry with the main task of caring for and treating patients with acute psychiatric conditions. The clinic's units are divided between Säter and Falun. In Säter, there is the county's only psychiatric emergency department as well as wards 90 and 95. In Falun, there is a dependency center, a general psychiatric ward, an eating disorder clinic, and an ECT clinic.

On ward 90 in Säter, patients with severe psychiatric symptoms who require intensive care and monitoring are treated, e.g., during psychoses and manic episodes. A large portion of the patients are treated under the Compulsory Psychiatric Care Act (LPT). The ward has 10 beds and high staffing around the clock. 

Ward 95 in Säter is a general psychiatric ward with 14 places for patients with various psychiatric diagnoses and significant care needs. Patients are treated under the Health and Medical Services Act (HSL) or LPT. The ward is staffed by doctors, nurses, and nursing assistants working together in care teams.

The position includes work during the day/evening and every other weekend or night shifts every other weekend.

• As a nurse at the Psychiatric Emergency Department in Säter, you will meet and assess patients' psychiatric conditions via phone and directly at the department. In the first meeting with the patient, you prioritize the patient using the triage system RETTS. The nurse plays an important role in the emergency department, making priority assessments, providing referrals, and informing about various treatment options. Experience in psychiatry is required.
• As a nurse on Ward 90, you will lead and be responsible for the nursing work and rounds. Other tasks include conversations with patients, relatives, care neighbors, SIP/care planning, sample collection, and medication management. A Care Coordinator is responsible for the ward's ÖPT patients and supports the nurses in contacts with care neighbors.
• As a nurse on Ward 95, you will lead and be responsible for the nursing work. The care team usually consists of a nurse and a nursing assistant during a shift, and together they are responsible for the patients in the care team. The nurse leads the team rounds and is responsible for distributing work during the day in consultation with others in the care team. Other tasks include conversations with patients, relatives, care neighbors, SIP/care planning, sample collection, and medication management. A Care Coordinator is available, responsible for the ward's ÖPT patients and supports other nurses in contacts with care neighbors. The ward has a ward coordinator who is responsible for the phone Monday to Friday during the day and performs administrative tasks.

On both of our wards 90/95, nurses, doctors, and nursing assistants work together and collaborate with the clinic's Treatment Team, including social workers and psychologists. All patients receive two Contact Persons who have a special care responsibility during the treatment period. APK Säter also needs nurses who can work nights this summer, together with an experienced colleague. At night, one nurse is responsible for wards 90 and 95, and one nurse is responsible for the psychiatric emergency department. There is always an on-call specialist doctor available at night.

We are looking for someone who is:

• a licensed nurse with an interest in working with care and treatment interventions for patients with severe psychiatric symptoms in the acute phase

Preferred:

• Specialist training in psychiatry
• Experience working in psychiatry
